FAQs

  • I offer free 15 minute phone consultations to those who are curious about beginning therapy with me. During our conversation I can learn a bit more about your interest in my services and we can determine whether to move forward in scheduling an appointment. Click on the "Book an appointment" button for further information.

  • Cost of counseling is determined by the length of session and type of session.

Individual 60 minute intake assessment: $200.00

    Individual 50 minute session: $175.00

    Couple/Relationship 60 minute intake assessment: $225.00

    Couple/Relationship 50 minute session: $200.00

  • I do my best to offer a sliding scale fee to those with limited financial ability when possible. A sliding scale fee structure is one in which the provider offers a lower fee for those who can not access services at the full rate.

Please feel free to ask me more about my sliding scale policy.

  • I work diligently to make the first session as informative and helpful as possible. During our first session together, I will tell you a bit more about Naomi Rawitz Counseling & Wellness and review the intake paperwork. Sometimes the first session can feel a bit more like an interview than a counseling session as this will be our first time really getting to know one another. I will want to learn more about your reason for seeking services and your hopes and goals for counseling. You will have ample time to ask any questions you have about me, my practice, or counseling in general. Toward the end of our time, we will work together on creating a plan to help you reach your goals.

  • It is my ethical responsibility to make sure you are getting the services you deserve. If I do not feel I can meet your clinical needs, there is a conflict of interest, or you decide you would prefer to work with someone else, I will provide you with referral information for alternative services or therapists.

  • Prior to your first appointment I will send you information on how to fill out initial paperwork remotely via my online portal. I ask that this information is filled out at least 72 hours before our first appointment so that I have time to properly review what you’ve shared, and so that you have time to gather any questions or concerns you may have for me.

For telehealth services, I recommend planning ahead to find a private, quiet space in which you can have session. You may also consider getting yourself a glass of water, headphones, tissues, and any other comfort items you’d like to have alongside you when we meet.

  • NRCW can accept most major credit and debit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club. We also accept cash, checks, and FSA and HSA cards.

  • At this time I do not accept any insurance plans, and therefore, this is a fee-for-service practice. All clients are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate to help prepare for the cost of services.

Additionally, I am able to offer superbills (itemized, coded medical receipts) for those who hope to utilize out-of-network benefits on their insurance plan. If you would like to pursue out-of-network benefits, I recommend calling your insurance company and asking the following questions:

    1. Do you cover out-of-network benefits for psychotherapy via telehealth?

    2. What is the process for submitting superbills and how long do I have to submit them?

    3. When and how will I receive reimbursement for submitted claims?

    4. What is my deductible, co-pay, or co-insurance? Does this impact my out-of-network coverage?

  • Under the No Surprises Act (as of January 1, 2022), all healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. The Good Faith Estimate shows the cost of items and services that are reasonably expected for your healthcare needs and treatment. This will be provided by NRCW upon scheduling and/or as requested. This Good Faith Estimate does not include unexpected costs that may arise during treatment.

  • It is important to me that you leave therapy feeling successful and gratified. Regardless of the specific goals, those who are actively engaged in the therapeutic process get the most out of therapy. Active engagement often involves readiness to be challenged, authentic communication with the therapist, willingness to put insights from therapy into practice both inside and outside of session, and consistent attendance. During our work together, I will help you maximize your time in session and periodically check in with you about how you feel counseling is going.

  • No, I am not a prescriber. However, if you are interested in exploring medication, I can assist you in finding a medical professional who can evaluate you for psychiatric medication.
